Customers with reservations in an area affected by Superstorm Sandy
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who have been adversely affected by Superstorm Sandy.
We have many locations that have been affected by this storm and we are working diligently to get our facilities open for business in order to service the many customer's who are needing our services.

If you have a reservation for equipment to be picked up in an area affected by Superstorm Sandy, U-Haul is here to help. Please contact 1-800-GO-U-HAUL (800-468-4285) or visit us at myuhaul.com to find your current scheduling details. Keep in mind that reservations may need to be moved based on which locations are open and can dispatch equipment. We will do everything that we can to help you and your family with your moving and self-storage needs. If you still have questions, you can reach our Customer Service department at 1-800-789-3638.

Customers returning trucks in areas that currently do not have open gas stations or access to fuel will not be charged our normal $30.00 refueling fee. The customer will simply be responsible for the fuel used as calculated based on the miles used.

30 days free self-storage and U-Box pod moving and self-storage assistance
U-Haul has a long-time policy of assisting those in need during natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, etc., by offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box pod moving and self-storage at participating U-Haul self-storage facilities on an as-available basis.

Disaster relief donation requests
U-Haul is receiving thousands of phone calls and emails from individuals and organizations requesting support with getting much needed relief items to the areas affected by Superstorm Sandy. Unfortunately, the affected areas have no gasoline, power or water, which is why U-Haul has chosen to work directly with the American Red Cross, the military, government agencies and local police and fire departments in their efforts to get much-needed relief supplies to the affected areas.

If you are an evacuee or family who has personally been affected by a natural disaster and need more than the 30-days-free self-storage assistance program, we have been advised to provide you with the following instructions: Register first with FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) and then register with the American Red Cross at 1-866-GET-INFO (438-4636).

If you are an individual who would like to help get aid to an affected area, the American Red Cross has specifically asked us to encourage individuals to contact the American Red Cross to see what the best and most efficient way to get relief to those in need may be.
