About this facility

Mission

Build Aid is a UK Registered Charity formed in February 2005 following the 2004 South East Asian tsunami.
We provide construction aid, pro-bono professional advice, and construction management for rebuilding projects undertaken by community groups, NGOs, non-profit-making organizations and government departments. We now also fund our own projects, following a number of generous donations from both private and corporate supporters and extensive research into local needs. As we enter our sixth successful year, we are even more committed to providing both technical aid and funding for community projects around the world, particularly in Ethiopia, Nepal and now Haiti.

Notes

FROM THE SITE:

Haiti

Following the well publicized natural disaster and the tragic associated loss of life on Haiti in January 2010, BuildAid operatives are to undertake an evaluation and appraisal visit to Port-au-Prince from the 13th of March 2010.

A report of findings will be made available for distribution upon return, and a public appeal launched for a range of projects BuildAid envisages it will undertake in the coming months, funding permitting.
