LEXINGTON, KY. -- Following close on the heels of a May 11 Presidential Disaster Declaration for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, more than $2.1M has been approved to help storm-weary Kentuckians recover from the May 1 and continuing severe storms, floods, mudslides, and tornadoes.

ATLANTA, Ga. -- People in eight Kentucky counties – Casey, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Metcalfe, Rockcastle, Rowan and Woodford – are now eligible for help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency as they recover from severe storms, flooding, mudslides, and tornadoes that struck the commonwealth beginning May 1.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Craig Fugate announced today that federal disaster aid has been made available to supplement commonwealth and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, flooding, mudslides, and tornadoes beginning on May 1, 2010, and continuing.
