Green Acton is a group of volunteers working to conserve local resources and protect our environment for future generations. Through education and advocacy, we aim to:
- reduce, reuse, and recycle energy and materials
- promote sustainable, environmentally sound practices

Tip: Reduce junkmail; stop delivery of phone directories at www.yellowpagesgoesgreen.org.
Tip: The Acton Memorial Library has three Kill-A-Watt electric usage meters for loan to Acton residents. The meters plug into a wall socket and an appliance to assess how efficiently the appliance works by displaying the power consumption in kilowatt-hour. For information, call the Reference Desk (978-264-9641 option 3).

Recycling, Low Impact Living, Toolkits, Products and Rebates
* The Acton Water District is offering conservation rebates for 2010 on new toilets and washing machines. To be eligible for the rebates, toilets must be EPA WaterSense labeled and clothes washers must meet CEE Tier 3 requirements. For more information and program eligibility, visit actonwater.com. The District also has indoor and outdoor conservation devices available free of charge to customers; stop by the offices at 693 Massachusetts Avenue for details. The Acton Water District will sell rain barrels again in the spring. new!
