- What is Graceworks Ministries?
Graceworks is a Christian-based, nonprofit ministry funded by individuals, businesses, civic groups, Williamson County churches and the Graceworks Thrift Store. We help supply basics of life to help move families past a point of crisis. Graceworks began in 1995 to help local churches screen requests for assistance and determine the validity of the need for food, monetary help, or clothing. Graceworks is no longer just a clearinghouse of information. Today, Graceworks is a ministry in its own right. Many who benefit from this ministry are people who find themselves in unexpected circumstances such as the loss of employment, sudden death of a spouse, catastrophic illness, or a lingering disability. In 2009, Graceworks served over 7,500 households. The average household served is 2.8 people (based on 2007-2008 average client family size). Therefore, our partners, volunteers and local churches made a tangible difference in the lives of over 21,000 people in Williamson County last year. Each client had a loving and caring volunteer listen to their story, and they were able to experience God's grace in tangible ways. - Areas served
