Tennessee Flood Relief
Samaritan’s Purse is partnering with Bethel World Outreach Center for disaster relief. The volunteers and Disaster Relief Unit of Samaritan’s Purse are pouring into our Brentwood campus from around the country. We are getting ready to help our community with Samaritan’s Purse.
If you are a homeowner affected by the flood, we would like to help you. Call 615-346-1310 and give us information about where you live, the damage in your area/home, and what help you need. You can also email this information to info @bwoc.org. Samaritan’s Purse will help clear the damaged area, remove carpets, drywall, flooring, and treat molding. You will need to sign the “Owner’s Job Approval Form” before Samaritan’s Purse can come out to you.
You can download the “Owner’s Job Approval Form” if you follow the weblink above.
We need all hands on deck! If you would like to join Bethel’s efforts with Samaritan’s Purse, here is how you can help.
1. Join the Samaritan’s Purse volunteers as they go on the field and work. Volunteers come in batches every week and you can help for one week at a time, one day, or even a couple of hours. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old to help, but minors will need an adult chaperone.
If you will volunteer during the day, you can come to the church any day from Monday to Saturday at 7:30 am. Be prepared to work until 4:30 pm. Our first day of volunteer work begins on Thursday, May 6. Meals will be provided for day volunteers. Our address is 5670 Granny White Pike, Brentwood TN 37027.
If you would like to stay at the Bethel facility as part of the Samaritan’s Purse team, you are required to stay for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 2 weeks. Sign up online (spvolunteernetwork.org). Bring sleeping materials (sleeping bag, cot or air mattress), towels and personal toiletries.
If you are an out of town volunteer, sign up online at spvolunteernetwork.org. Week-long volunteers come in for orientation on Sunday night and work from Monday to Saturday, and are limited to staying for two weeks.
2. Help Bethel host our Samaritan’s Purse team. You can help set up tables, support the cooks, run for supplies. Call 615-371-1000 or email info@bwoc.org.
3. Join the Bethel Special Ops team. Samaritan’s Purse is focusing efforts in Bellevue and Franklin. For victims and homes that are beyond the Bellevue and Franklin area, we are organizing volunteers and teams. Call 615-371-1000 or email info @bwoc.org.
4. Give to the relief fund: Go to http://www.bwoc.org/giving and click on "Brentwood Designated Offering Fund," specifically for "Disaster Relief Nashville Floods." Please consider giving generously so we can help those in need. We are trusting the Lord to use us all to minister to family, friends and community.
