-------
The City of Gulf Breeze is carefully monitoring the oil spill situation. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection advised us at 3:30 Sunday afternoon that no oil is expected in our area for the next 72 hours. While no progress has been made in terminating the flow of oil, a dome to cap the flow and/or a drilling procedure to stop the flow are being planned.
Santa Rosa County Emergency Operations has asked that you please report any sighting of oil to BP at (866) 448 5816.
Up to date maps of the concentration of pollutants can be found at www.airnow.gov, additional information is available through the EPA at http://www.epa.gov/bpspill/
Call BP at the same number [ (866) 448 5816 ] to inquire about preventative measures you can take for your personal property. Take pictures of current conditions before oil is present.
