Polk County Shelters

* The City of Pleasant Hill has an evacuation center open at the Doanes Youth Park Shelter, 5050 Doanes Park Rd., in response to severe flooding in a nearby mobile home community.
* The City of Des Moines has opened an evacuation center at Amos Hiatt Middle School, 1214 E. 15th St., and the Red Cross is working in coordination with the City and emergency management to make sure this site it supported.

Jasper County

* A Red Cross shelter has been opened at the Colfax-Mingo High School, 204 North League Rd., Colfax.

Story County

* On the North West side of Ames, a Red Cross shelter has been opened at the St. Cecilia Parish, 2900 Hoover Ave.
* First Christian Church, 611 Clark Ave.

Wapello County

* A Red Cross Shelter has been opened at the Ottumwa High School, 501 E. Second Street.
