At Caracol, there is the St. Elizabeth Health Center and the clinic
led by the Haitian State. In the clinic, there a Cuban doctor and
Cuban nurse. We take care of people suffering from
cholera in the clinic.
Before we send to northern-hole, now they heal over
place at the clinic.
There is no death, they are given serum Oral and that.
But we lack soaps, chlorine and others.

People use water from wells that unfortunately is not treated.
We would like to make it portable water that people use.

At St. Elizabeth Health Center, there is a nurse and other staff.

So far I have received nothing. ...I do not financial means to hire another doctor and other nurses. The doctor had left as planned on November 30
last. For now, the clinic needs a doctor and a nurse to improve the health of the population. I await your help in this sense ....

12/6/20 Update from Hannah CHHN
On Dec. 2, reported went through supplies given by MSPP.

11/29/10 Email from Fr. Joseph Francis Duvillage

Caracol is a small city of 15,000 inhabitants, situated north-east of Haiti, about 300 km from Port-au-Prince, the capital). Caracol commune covers an area of 76.7 km2. It is bounded to the north by the Atlantic Ocean to the east by Terrier Rouge, Lemonade South and West by Trou du Nord. Caracol displays extreme poverty as is the case in most remote, rural and marginalized of the country.

There is a hospital-Trou-du-Nord, MSPP has set up a tent to receive people with the cholera epidemic, unfortunately, Caracol we found 4 cases in a week of cholera. We would have resources needed to care for sufferers. We continue to do outreach in schools and churches.

11/28/10 Email from Fr. Joseph Francis Duvillage
