SIFAT BLOG: http://www.sifat.org/wordpress/index.php
This group sets up little "Sawyer pumps" for villages. Each pump makes water for about 100 people. (from their newsletter)
The group's administrative offices are physically located in Alabama, but they have operations on the ground in Haiti.
TF: We have direct contact with them through Laura Parenteau from CAP Birmingham in Alabama. Her contacts in Haiti have seen this group at work and recommend them. She tells me that although they are "faith-based" that religion is not a prerequisite for getting a pump. My dealings with them, personally, did not involve any mentions of religeon as a condition of getting a pump.
