OptumHealth Provides Free Counseling Help Line for People Affected by the Fourmile Canyon and Loveland Wildfires in Colorado
Affected residents can call 866-342-6892 to speak with behavioral health specialists
CENTENNIAL, Colo., Sep 13, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- OptumHealth announced today a free help line established for people in Colorado faced with the emotional consequences of the recent Fourmile Canyon and Reservoir Road wildfires. Staffed by experienced master's-level behavioral health specialists, the free help line offers assistance to callers seeking help in dealing with stress, anxiety and the grieving process. Callers may also receive referrals to a database of community resources to help them with specific concerns, including financial and legal matters.
The toll-free help line number, 866-342-6892, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for as long as necessary. The service is free of charge and open to anyone. Resources and information are also available via the Internet in English at www.liveandworkwell.com and in Spanish at www.mentesana-cuerposano.com.
The Fourmile Canyon fire outside of Boulder, Colo., is considered among the most devastating in Colorado history, scorching more than 6,300 acres and destroying at least 135 homes. The Reservoir Road fire in Larimer County started Sunday outside of Loveland. By Monday morning, it had spread to more than 700 acres and destroyed at least two homes, prompting hundreds of evacuations.
Previously, OptumHealth's help line assisted individuals free of charge following Hurricane Earl, the earthquake in Mexicali and Southern California, the recent tornadoes in Minnesota and the floods in Rhode Island.
