Mission
Families in Action (PFA) is a presidential program implemented by the Colombian Presidential Agena "Social Action", ie directly to the President of the Republic, Alvaro Uribe. PFA is also a program of conditional cash transfers - CCT for its acronym in English - which is now coming to a decade (since 1999) to be providing subsidies to families in extreme poverty, families in situations of forced displacement ( since 2005) and Indian families (since 2007). They give two types of grants, one nutrition and one for education in exchange for ensuring that families that their children between 0 and 7 years to comply with scheduled medical appointments and schedule of immunization (vaccines) and those between 7 and 18 attend 80% of school activities. COOPERATION AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER 1. At the international level Since its inception, the program has facilitated the transfer of knowledge to other countries that have implemented or are implementing CCT programs. The World Bank has conducted international meetings since 2002 in Mexico, 2004 in Sao Paulo Brazil, 2006 in Turkey (Istanbul), and recently, in 2009 in Morocco. In Brazil and Turkey, the program was the keynote speaker on issues such as promotion and stewardship process. From these events has created a community at Lat CST with virtual meetings (video conference) journalists, leaders from the Bank in Washington with the participation of Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Salvador and Colombia. In June 2009 the group met CST in Washington to set goals for the exchange of experiences and knowledge transfer of the CCT community. Since 2006 the program has been invited and has participated actively in regional dialogue Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Colombia 2006, Argentina 2007 and Washington 2008. These events are shared experiences and best practices of interest to the IDB Country Secretaries for the development of public policy. In 2007 and 2008 in Cartagena Colombia CST developed international events with emphasis on the income of such programs in medium and large urban centers with participation of 17 countries.
