This site is designated as a "CTC" per the PAHO list dated 11/19/10

CTC Definition:

Center for the treatment of Cholera (CTC): a center set up for the
treatment of cholera with a staff recruited for this 40 to 300 beds
which receives the sick suspects of cholera. In the case ideal,
there are tents for rehydration iv and tents or rooms for the phase
of re-convalescensce. Capable of processing of complications such
as pulmonary edema. Open 24 on 24/ 7 on 7. Receives the sick who
come spontaneously and cases referred to it.

Hi all,
As of last night we had 48 patients hospitalized in Hinche at the CTC at hospital St Therese that the MSPP is running in collaboration with Partners In Health, J/PHRO, and Medishare. We have had a steady stream of new cases, with approximately 20 a day being discharged and 20 new admitted.

Haiti: Operational Biosurveillance

Cholera Outbreak: Maissade-Hinche Area
A Cholera Treatment Center (CTC) is being stood up in response to the abrupt presentation of 40 patients beginning two days ago to the hospital in Hinche from the Maissade region. MSPP is engaged with PIH, JPHRO, Medishare, and others, and the Hinche CTC will be operational by tomorrow. The Mirebalais CTC should be ready by Thursday or Friday.
