CTC DEFINITION:
Center for the treatment of Cholera (CLC): a center set up for the treatment of cholera with a staff recruited for this 40 to 300 beds which receives the sick suspects of cholera. In the case ideal, there are tents for rehydration iv and tents or rooms for the phase of re-convalescensce. Capable of processing of complications such as pulmonary edema. Open 24 on 24/ 7 on 7. Receives the sick who come spontaneously and cases referred to it.

"Since the rainy season began in the last 2 weeks, we've seen 1000
cases," said David Walton, who runs the center. While many of the new
cases are less severe than the deadly wave that first hit the country
last fall [2010], Walton said the uptick could be an indicator of
things to come. "I worry that given what I've seen, we could be
overwhelmed again at the cholera centers," he said.
