10/20/11:

LTel spoke to Frantz Jean, founder of Konbit for Port-A-Piment:

Dr. Vital is in PaP rallying for staffing support. They lost volunteer presence at the hospital and separate CTC on 10/15/11. Currently staff is still working on a volunteer basis but this will only last so long.

10/19/11:

Per Patrice Talleyrand - spoke to Dr. Dormercant (in charge of MSPP Sud Region):

-The Cholera alert was verified and substantiated as authentic
-There is a "high death toll" (numbers unknown at this time)
-He spoke to representation of MSPP & DDSS and was advised "we still
have Cholera cases but everything is under control"
-CRS & WHO are delivering needed supplies shortly and they are in
touch with IOM
-The river is still high but it is under control

This site is designated as a 'CTU' from the PAHO list dated 12/6/10

CTU DEFINITION: Unit for the/Cholera (UTC): a health center, mobile clinic or hospital alone which has built a space to be able treat patients cholera, or in a tent or ente or in a house of the structure. THE UTC is able to make oral rehydration and intravenous use. Capacity 2-20 beds. Opening: at least during 12 hours. Staff : doctor, nurses, agent sanitation, health worker.

NOTE: There was no site POC contact details or Cholera bed capactity included on the PAHO list.
