About this facility

Service: Temporary

Notes

Hancock County Humane Society operates NO SHELTER facility. Healthy, adoptable animals that come into our care stay in foster homes until a suitable permanent home can be found. HCHS charges $40 for cat adoptions and $50 for dog adoptions. For those animals that have not been altered, we provide vouchers for low-cost spay or neutering. *********** We Are Not A Shelter!!!

We are a volunteer supported, nonprofit, charitable organization supported entirely by donations. We receive no government funds. We rely solely on your donations and on our volunteers who donate their time and energy.

FriendsOfTheAnimalShelter.org and .net ...in Hancock County, MS a registered 501c3 non-profit organization

We had lost our .org domain name for a while, and therefore all of our @FriendsOfTheAnimalShelter.org E-mail addresses, and our original web site.

Also, Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage to our offices, files, computers, supplies, and much more.

The storm-damaged animal shelter is condemned, but still manned by an employee and still receiving animals, but all animals that come in are sent to shelters around the country.

For information on the shelter, please call (228) 467-0230
