- Mission
- MamaBaby Haiti is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of mothers and babies. Our mission is to lower the maternal, fetal, and neonatal mortality rate in Haiti. MamaBaby Haiti is formed by a group of midwives and naturopathic doctors who serve women and families out of their birthing center and clinic in Haiti. They provide free prenatal, birth, postpartum, and pediatric care, in addition to education and other life saving services. The birth center and clinic are located in Morne Rouge and are staffed by Haitian and American midwives as well as American Naturopathic Physicians (for more info on Naturopathic medicine see www.naturopathic.org). We receive volunteers from all over the world including midwives, naturopathic physicians, medical and osteopathic physicians, nurses, acupuncturists, and many others in the health care field. We also accept community volunteers to help with some of our ongoing projects including working in our garden which goes to feed some of our patients as well as those working in our organization, building latrines, and teaching various classes to people living in our area.
