2011 Quake/Tsunami/Nuclear -
The worst affected areas are the prefectures along
the north-eastern coast, including Iwate, Miyagi,
Fukushima, Ibraki and Chiba. The pre-crisis
population of these five prefectures was 14.8 million
people, of whom 1.6 million live within five
kilometres of the coast.
