FROM THE SITE 9/6/11:
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express Baseball Club today partnered with the American Red Cross of Central Texas to provide aid to local residents affected by recent wildfires in Central Texas. Beginning Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., The Dell Diamond, home of the Express, will become a central drop-off point for household items and clothing intended for victims of the fires.
All items can be dropped off at The Railyard, the official team store of the Express, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays and during upcoming playoff games.
In addition, the Express are offering any resident displaced due to recent wildfires free admission to Pacific Coast League American Conference Championship Series games held at The Dell Diamond. Round Rock hosts the Omaha Storm Chasers at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the first round of the PCL playoffs. To qualify, proof of residency is required in person at The Dell Diamond ticket office.
To provide the most effective response, the Red Cross recommends the following items for donations: sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, towels, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic utensils, spray deodorant, disposable razors, shaving cream, baby diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo and hand sanitizer.
