A volunteer reception center will open in LaPlace tomorrow at
8:00 a.m. (Sun. 9/23/12) for anyone interested in volunteering
in the community to gut and clean homes.

The center will be located at New Wine Christian Fellowship
Church, 1929 W. Airline Hwy, and will be open from 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Organized groups of volunteers are encouraged to visit
the site, but all individuals interested in volunteering
are also welcome.

The multi-agency warehouse for the parish is also operational
at this location. Donation items currently being requested at
this site are: sheetrock, insulation, lumber, flooring,
cleaning supplies, generators, water, mold remediation tools
and fungicide, personal protection equipment (N-95 masks,
gloves, glasses, Tyvek© suits, etc), tools, brooms, shovels
and wheelbarrows. Please do not send shoes or clothes to
this location.
Homeowners who need help with gutting their houses are
encouraged to call the Volunteer Assistance hotline at
(985) 359-0254 Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. or email a request to isaacassistance @ jbparish.com
