Speciality: Rebuilding homes for reoccupation due to Hurricane
Katrina
Description of volunteer needs: Skilled labor to do roofing,
hang sheet rock, and basic carpentry. Could use assistance for
food distribution (twice/wk) and for the free medical clinic
(thrice/wk).
Skills volunteers are required to have: Carpentry, Roofers,
Electricians, Plumbers, Framers, etc.
Useful Skills: Any carpentry skills; ability to assess costs
of repairs
Tools or supplies volunteers should bring: Personal tools, if
possible. Any tools associated with plumbing, electrical,
carpentry jobs.
Will volunteers need to bring any money or material, such as
for housing: They will need to be responsible for their own food
and personal items. Housing must be scheduled in advance.
