COUNTY RELEASES DONATION COLLECTION LOCATIONS
THE OCEAN COUNTY Office of Emergency Management has released a list of locations throughout the county that are accepting donations in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
"We ask that residents please do not attempt to drop off donations of food, clothing or other items directly to the shelters, but instead visit one of these collection points," said Sheriff William L. Polhemus.
Many of the centers are collecting food, clothing, toiletries and other items, although several locations have made special requests for needed items.
Locations include:
· Stafford Township Town Hall - 260 Bay Avenue, Manahawkin. Requesting paper products and protein bars.
· Little Egg Harbor Township Senior Center, 965 Radio Road
· St. Mary's of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin.
· Ocean County Hunger Relief, 21 Germania Station Road, Toms River.
· Food Bank of Ocean and Monmouth Counties, 3300 Route 66, Neptune
· Lacey United Methodist Church, 203 Lacey Road, Forked River.
· Jackson Crossings, 21 South Hope Chapel Road, Jackson.
· Calvary Lighthouse Church, 1133 County Line Road, Bldg. A, Lakewood. Non-perishable food & clothing.
· Church of Grace & Peace, 1563 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. Non-perishable food & clothing.
· Visitation Church, 755 Mantoloking Road, Brick. No clothing please. Requesting food, toiletries, pillows and blankets.
· South Toms River Borough Hall, 144 Mill Street.
Emergency Management officials ask that anyone who wishes to volunteer during the storm recovery to please contact the American Red Cross at redcross.org or 732-493-9100.

We are continuing to investigate any issues with this volunteer phone number. If you are an official from any volunteer organization helping with cleanup and the victims of Hurricane Sandy, please use the comments section below to spread the word about your organization and ways that people can get involved. Thank you for your patience.
If storm conditions preclude the hotline from being answered by live operators, volunteers may call one of two backup hotline numbers: 609-775-5236 or 908-303-0471. Volunteers may also send an email to rowena.madden@sos.state.nj.us.
If you are already a trained volunteer affiliated with an emergency response organization, please contact that agency to register your readiness to receive an assignment.
This hotline is managed by the New Jersey Business Action Center and the Governor’s Office of Volunteerism. Both divisions are within the New Jersey Department of State.
Calls placed to the hotline will be received by the Business Action Center, which will work with the Office of Volunteerism and NJ AmeriCorps to match and direct volunteers where help is needed. When live operators are not available, callers can leave a voicemail message that includes their place of residence, availability and skills.
