Volunteer Opportunities
Are you interested in spending a few hours making the life of a child a little brighter? The Coalition is now seeking volunteers to spend time at the Rhonda Crane Memorial Youth Shelter. Your time could be spent reading to the children, rocking babies, doing arts and crafts, watching a movie, playing outside on the playground, helping with homework, listening to them, decorating cupcakes, etc. The children housed at the Shelter range from birth to 17 years old. They may be there for one day or several weeks. The newly opened activity room allows for plenty of room for volunteers and children to interact. If you are interested, call the Coalition office at 522-1965 and ask for an application and background check form to be mailed to you.
Rhonda H. Crane Youth Shelter Expansion
Ground breaking in July of 2003 and completed in January 2004, the Coalition raised the funds to build the expansion shelter with the help and support of community members. This shelter will be utilized by the Jackson County Youth Court and the children that are charged with underage drinking in the Justice Court System.
