About this facility

Mission
The mission of the Jackson County Community Services Coalition is to be a positive influence in the lives we touch on a daily basis and to develop and implement programs to benefit children, youth, adults, senior citizens and community organizations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast in a timely, efficient and respectful manner.

Notes

There are currently more than 50 agencies that are members of the
Coalition. There is NO FEE to belong to the Coalition.

The Six Goals of the Jackson County Community Services Coalition:

1. Assist in coordinating community groups, volunteer groups,
religious groups, educational institutions and public agencies
to address the unmet needs of individuals and families in the
Mississippi Gulf Coast.

2. Identify and locate existing gaps in service in the gulf coast
communities and to assist in developing the necessary services
within those gaps.

3. Educate the public and private sectors regarding issues affecting
the communities in the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

4. Educate people on the dangers of illicit drug use in the 13 sectors
of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

5. Coordinate existing services more efficiently among Coalition
partners.

6. Assist individuals and families in restoring their lives from
a natural disaster, and/or other crisis along the Mississippi Gulf
Coast.

Hurricane Katrina Relief

Here is a list of the 15 items we most need in Jackson County.
This list came from our survey assessments and from people on
the ground that have been working in the storm surge areas for
the past 19 months.

3. 2 x 4 studs
4. Refrigerators
5. stove, gas or electric

7. dryers
8. Furniture, Chairs and/or couches for living rooms
9. Microwave ovens
10. Standard size doors (Inside)
11. Tennis shoes for children and youth
12. Queen/double size mattresses

Funds to purchase:

13. WalMart gift cards
14. Home Depot/Lowes gift cards
15. Funds to assist senior citizens and individuals with
disabilities basic necessities.

The Community Coalition is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, and we thank
you for your support and help. For those considering on supporting
these efforts for your information the Community Coalition has an
independent audit completed yearly by a CPA.
