Computer Lab Volunteer


Position Description
Volunteer will serve to provide oversight and direction to the users of an 8 workstation computer center. All users of the center will be participants in the Boston Rescue Mission’s residential programs.

Responsibilities include
-Provide oversight for lab users in accordance with the center’s policies and procedures.
-Provide assistance with issues relating to basic computer operations including, but not limited to, use of the Microsoft Office Suite, internet resources, and navigation of the Windows operating system.
-Provide assistance with the development of documents (including resumes, cover letters, etc.) and other as requested by lab users.
-Inform the IT department of any technical issues relating to the operation of the center.
-Report violations of center policy to the appropriate staff members.

Benefits
Volunteer will gain experience working with halfway-house residents as well as experience helping residents to improve computer skills.

Qualifications
General knowledge of computers and experience with all Microsoft Office programs and Internet applications.

Hours
Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm.
