Neighborhoods...
Suggestions for planning your own clean up: Make your contacts, plan a date, time,and meeting spot.. tell everyone to wear a pair of gloves, bring heavy duty contractor bags, a rake, broom or shovel, a bottle of water (and hand wipes). Please see guidelines on the volunteer page for bagging/sorting. Call the Sanitation Department at 658-3800 to schedule a pick up. See pics (at bottom) of a pro-active Fountainbleu neighborhood!
Spreading the word: Katrina Krewe has spawned many clean up efforts throughout the city. We distributed a large number of supplies amongst locally organized neighborhood groups, and continue to post their efforts at the volunteer page.
