About this facility

Mission
The Katrina Krewe is an all volunteer 501C3 organization that was established by Becky Zaheri, a stay at home mom, in November 2005 to provide relief from the trash and debris that resulted in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. The Krewe ultimately mobilized over 10,000 local, national and international volunteers to bag, and remove, over 250,000 tons of Katrina debris from the streets of New Orleans (testimonials). These pictures represent "the blood, sweat and tears" of recovery! Today, the streets are cleared of Katrina's trash, so the Krewe no longer hosts clean ups, however, we continue to foster anti-litter awareness among neighborhoods, schools and businesses in the New Orleans area through our "Keep it Klean!" public awareness campaign.
