ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS!

The cost of staying is $10 per person per night. We have bunk
beds set up in areas of our church and connecting buildings.
We provide three meals each day except Saturday for no extra
charge. On Saturday there will not be an evening meal because
we must set up for Sunday morning worship.

For Saturday evening, we have setup a deal with Sicily's Italian
Eatery to provide volunteers with an all-you-can-eat buffet for
only $6 per person. Or you may choose to eat at any of our other
local restaurants. Teams not staying at our facility but working
out of our work room may eat with us for $8 per day. Advanced
notice is required.

What will our team do about meals?
At the end of August, 2007, we will no longer have regularly scheduled cook teams. We are praying that groups or part of groups will sign up to be the cook team for the week they are here. When we have cook teams we will provide breakfast, lunch, and supper. When there is no cook team, you will have to use our local area restaurants to eat.

We have two main areas of disaster relief volunteer opportunities
available.

a) Cleanup & Recovery – this area involves cleaning up of homes
and property in order to prepare for the rebuilding phase. Specific
jobs may include chainsaw work, yard cleanup, and home cleanup.
Home cleanup involves removing all flood damaged contents including,
furniture and appliances, flooring, and sheetrock/insulation.

UPDATE: Every day we are having fewer clean-up jobs and more rebuild
jobs signed up for. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your
team. If you have a team that only wants to do clean-up jobs we will
find jobs for you. Just keep in mind that our focus is shifting
towards the rebuilding stage.

b) Rebuilding – this involves assisting the church and community
members with repairing their homes. We are specifically focusing
on roofing, replacing insulation, hanging sheetrock, and painting.
While these are the rebuilding jobs we are focusing on, if you or
any member of your group has specialized skills outside such as
electrical and plumbing, please let us know at the time of
scheduling.

Please note: For every 14 team members we are asking that two of
those members remain at the church. One to assist with church cleaning
and one to assist with kitchen staffing needs.
